Handbuch Zeitschriftenforschung (forthcoming)

Oliver Scheiding and Sabina Fazli’s Handbuch Zeitschriftenforschung will be published on November 27th, 2022 by transcript and will be available in print or as an Open Access publication. The collection of essays explores how societies view magazines and how different societies view the translated periodicals within their specific contexts. To answer these questions, the contributors analyzed the relationship of textual composition, design, content, infrastructures, and target audiences of magazines. They view magazines as materialized sign systems and communicative artifacts within the material culture of society and aim to expand the view within the framework of a differentiation theory oriented research agenda.
